Since i have my MARKBASS head i don´t use the Sansamp BDDI as a preamp anymore. It´s an expensive overdrive now.
But where do you think would it be better to place it?

    - right between Bass and amp...to get the benefit of a low impedance output for use with long cables...even when bypassed?

    - in the effect loop (on my pedalboard!)...so there won´t be another pedeal in my signal chain that may alter the sound when bypassed?
  2. I've always used mine "in front of" my amp. I have tried it in the effects loop but, apart from anything else, you do get a bit of a drop in headroom by losing the boost provided by the preamp stage of the amp.

Ultimately, I think it really comes down to personal choice and neither is better nor worse. Do what sounds best (to you)?
