Jeez, you guys are killing me!!! Where were these basses when I bought my MS5?! Good luck, although I don't think you'd need it for such a great piece! :bassist:

If you were an afficionado, you'd spell it Sadowsky, like Roger does. Read the headstock.

What's wrong with Metros? They have the same electronics and pickups. The main difference is in the body (non-chambered), and the assembly locale. I actually like my Metro better than the #4311 NYC I had awhile back (not looks-wise, but feel).

I could not agree more. I think too many people wrongly associate the Metro to Lakland's Skyline or Ken Smith's KSD basses. The Metro is not a budget line, as the price tag makes apparent. I also have a Metro that I prefer to the NYC I used to own.

Perhaps it is an anti-Japan stance that causes people to have such odd feelings, but anyone that has played an 80's Japanese Fender, Moon, or Atelier Z bass knows that the Japanese luthiers understand what makes Fender style basses special as well as, if not better, than the majority of American builders. Kudos to Roger Sadowsky for recognizing this.

Regardless, what a beautiful bass that will make some lucky bass player very happy.
