I had a few minutes to burn. I currently own a Lakland Joe Osborn and I'm anxiously waiting for my new Sadowsky Vintage PJ. I ordered the Sad with a 9" radius which is more of what I'm used to and more 60's than 70's ala Fender. I had the opportunity to play my good buddy Wendell's Tokyo Sad over the weekend. He has the Macus Miller thing goin' on with his bass. It was very nice btw. Right away both of us noticed the Lakland's Jazz neck was generally smaller at least not as thick by the nut area. The Tokyo had a very nice neck but was beefier to both of us. I did speak with Mr. Sadowsky and he pretty much confirmed that the dimensions were very close on the New Yorks and the Tokyos. So I'm expecting the Jazz neck on my new PJ/4 to be closer to my buddy's neck than my Lakland. That is not a bad thing at all, I was just wondering if anyone else has these basses or similar necks anyway and found it to be a big difference. I'm totally looking forward to my new Sad and can't wait to get it on!!
