How many Sadowsky Musicman basses were made?

I used to have a Black one with a single MM pickup in it

That has been the only one I have ever seen and stupidly enough I sold it to buy a Stingray.

I didn't know that Sadowsky made MusicMan basses. Any photos of yours?

Can you give us more info? (pickup & electronics, body shape, etc.)

Now that you say it Mike, I remember seeing a pic of a Sadowsky with a MM pickup in the bridge position, but that's all.

I seem to recall an article in Bass Player of Bernard Edwards (bassplayer for Chic) having one... had a white finish, IIRC.

    That's highly interesting!

I once wrote a mail to Sadowsky about so many high end J- and P-clones being around, but absolutely no MM's. Never got an answer to that question. Therefore I decided having my custom MM's build somewhere else.
But I'd really like to see some pics of a Sadowsky MM !!

I used to own one. Bought it used back in 1993 or '94. It had a single Bartolini MM pickup in it. I immediately took it to Sadowsky and had JJ pickups installed. They made a small plastic plate to cover the route where the MM was. That was a great bass. I recently traded it for a '77 Stingray.

In hindsight, I should have left it an MM. I could have installed a Nordstrand MM pickup with the Sadowsky preamp. That woulda been cool.

I was just thinking that as I was scrolling down to post.
  15. goodguysguitars.com had one last year and it didn't last long IIRC. Was your bass white with a Stingray neck profile?

    Yeah, that was the one.
  17. Is the body shaped like a stingray or what?

I believe it was a musicman style pickup in a Jazz body.
