    Hi,
can anyone tell me the reason why this is so. When I let down pickups then D- string will also be quieter and the volume ratio between G and D stays the same. D- string seems to be in balance with others, but G is louder.

I would add that with both pickup the same problem. Maybe preamp singularity? Contrary to my MM Stingray 4- it has a bit weak G-string :)

Is it only the open G or all across the string? What about when on passive mode?
Check contact points on all strings at the nut & bridge.
Try a different (other brand) set of strings.
    Give the shop a call.

Not only open- G. Open G maybe loudest than closed positions. In passive mode the contrast not so big.
