Here is a hardly played Sadowsky NYC. I have a new build for a 33" scale bass in the works and need to fund it. $3325 Shipped CONUS Awesome bass, light, plays great, incredible tone, tons of punch and cut through the mix. As a big believer of economy of motion it is setup with a sadowsky 18mm bridge. I found the original Sadowsky humbuckers to have a little bit weak scooped tone with a quiet D string. I then had the boutique single coil pickups that are in it custom wound by Aero (they cost me $300). These fattened and tightened up the low end and the highs more articulate. The bass sounds better and is more versatile. If you want the original Sadowsky humbuckers installed instead of the Aeros, Id be happy to do that for you, but I will have to order them in so it adds $160 to the sale price. Comes in original like new hardshell case. ***SOUNDCLIPS*** This Sadowsky was used on tracks 4 (Timed Capsule) and 8 (Nanny Goat Hill) of my album: http://electrifiedbass.net/something-new-again-is-released/ SADOWSKY SITE http://sadowsky.com/stock/view/6310.html FINISH | Bora Blue Burst BODY | Quilted Maple on Swamp Ash NECK | Maple with Thin Matte Nitro Finish FINGERBOARD | Morado, 12" Radius, 1 3/4" Nut Width, Vintage Tint PICKGUARD | None HARDWARE | Black PICKUPS | Sadowsky Humcancelling (Now Aeros) WEIGHT | 8.50 lbs. (3.86 kg) PREAMP | Sadowsky Preamp with Vintage Tone Control STRINGS | SBS45B Blue (Stainless Steel 45-130T) A couple of notes on condition. This is not a brand new bass, but its about as damn close as you are going to get for the price. Due to my perfectionist nature, Ive gone over the bass with a fine tooth comb and there are three things that I want to point out: There is a small ding (not through the fininsh about 1/16" across) indicated in the pic below: There is small scratch about 3/16" x 1/32". It is a very light scratch that can probably be buffed out. It is to the lower right of the control cavity. There is some surface haze from slapping. Its really hard to see and photo graph, the light has to be perfect. Those are the only things about the bass that I believe makes it any lesser than new since the frets have hardly any wear ( I play really light and the bass was hardly played). With the boutique aero pickups this bass is a more solid instrument with a stronger more versatile tone.
A bump for a beautiful bass at a good price, and a comment that IME/IMHO the 3/4" nut width is a great choice (on a 5-er) for someone who enjoys the feel of the classic J taper, down in first position. (I prefer it greatly, but YMMV, as always.) Another comment: my NYC WL5 is ash/rosewood also, and while the combination is unusual, IMHO it's the best of both worlds in terms of tonewood. It's got the lively top end of ash, but never the harshness of ash with a maple board.
I have a Fodera Yin Yang I consider trading for your sadowsky. Let me know if youre interested. Listing Here: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/pri...dard-2014-lots-of-pics.1118880/#post-16760338
Thanks Gasaholic, unfortunately I'm committed to a custom that I need to fund, but thanks for the offer. Best, Damian
