Here we have a recent (2018) Sadowsky that I'm selling only because I keep forgetting that as a short-waisted human, I'm way better off with reduced body sizes, like the Sadowsky Will Lee or Lakland body shapes. AND I've reduced the asking price to $4800.00. Because of this ergonomic reality, I'll be selling not only this bass but also an Alembic Europa and Fender Roscoe Beck V (fretless). EDIT: Alembic is sold; still on fence re the RBV. But back to this Sadowsky...chambered ash body with a flamed-ash cap; maple neck; and a really dark, smooth and gorgeous ebony board. "Vintage" body size, 8.8 lbs. on digital scale. 21 frets, 1.75" nut. The stain is dark blue, with a slight hint of teal. Electronics feature the newish "Super J" in the bridge location, which can be selected for separate coils in either the 60's or 70's position, or parallel, with both coils firing. Condition is excellent, and bass will come in a Sadowsky Porta-bag showing minimal wear. I've had this for about 6 months, and only gigged it once. This thing plays like butter - in particular, the feel of this ebony board is exceptional, and fretwork is as you'd expect from an NYC Sadowsky. The Super-J is subtle, but grows on you. One of my mainest basses is a Carl Pedigo build with Duncan NYC soaps and the same sort of coil selection, on each soapbar -- it took me a while to realize how effective that sort of configuration can be, and the Super-J is even better. Asking $5100 and split shipping CONUS. US and Canada only. Only possible trade bait would be an NYC WL5 with ebony board.
Yes, it is. And the ebony/ash combo rocks - one might expect it to sound bright, but the timbre is really well-balanced...perhaps the body size has something to do with that...
