Sadowsky pre-amp/DI a little hissy/noisy in the studio?

just bought a new Sadowsky pre-amp/DI. sounds great in live applications, really helps beef up my sound, but in the studio we've discovered that it hisses a little, especially when the treble boost is employed.....do I have a defective one or are all of them a little hissy?

(I am talking about a small amount of hiss, not a huge deal but enough to where the producer was sayin' "hey man you need to use another DI")

I only get that in the studio when I boost
the crap out of the treble. BUT!!!! I never
have to do that. Treble 10 to 12 o clock at
    the very highest. Good luck.

A lot of pedals with gain stages will pick this up. At least, that's what I have noticed.
