Hi, Can anyone give me some info (Photo would be nice :) on the custom Sadowsky Tele bass Tom Hamilton from Aerosmith uses??? The one i'm talking about is the purple finish one although i did see him use a Natural coloured one on the MTV "Aerosmith icon" show.

Other tele basses that i would get my hands on Fender Mike Drint and the Schecter Model-T. Not sure which one is the best.

I've played a Mike Dirnt for a few minutes at GC & I thought it was nice. I owned a Model T & for the money, it was nice but the one I had, weighed a ton.

I built this Valenti 72ish Tele style bass for TBer MascisMan:

That Sadowsky tele is sooooo sweet. It is just dripping mojo. What is the pickguard made of? It looks like a basket weave graphite or something along those lines.

Oh yeah, that is a sweet bass you made Nino. :bassist:

The Valenti looks better than the Sadowsky, IMO. Great work, Nino! :bassist:

Wow, those really are nice. Although I'd prefer it in a 5 string P/J configuration :hyper:

Might be to you; however, I cant seem to dig any of these basses. Those pickguards look rather silly to me, especially on the Sad. And those in-line knobs on that metal-plate... :eyebrow: maybe some of you drool over them, I dont :p

and I agree with Woodchuck, I'd pick the Valenti up way before the Sadowsky. Great job as always Nino! I'll get to trying out one of yours some day soon

  14. I LOVE Tele basses. I have a Dirnt Sig and it has usurped my Musicman.

That Valenti is drool city. Nice work, Nino. :hyper:

I hear ya about the pickguard and I'd probably have one made without it but I don't mind the metal plate under the knobs at all.

take this for what it's worth.
btw, love the bass nino, i'm saving my pennies
i while back i played one of those pink fender tele basses with the flower graphic just for giggles. It ws cheap, i forget how much. Not the best bess in the world, had its flaws and all but i was digging it. I got the dusty hill tone right off the bat and if i had more cash i might have bought it. Im very secure in my heterosexual masculinity. :p

  17. I have to agree with some of the others, Nino; that Tele you built looks great.

I also like Roger's, but if I ordered one, I'd go for the original humbucker by the neck, balanced out with some other pup near the bridge.

I'd also go with a rosewood board.

    Nice work Nino!!! :)

The original Tele bass was modeled after the earliest P basses. Single coil in the middle position. In the early 70's Fender changed them to a mudbucker configuration.
