Sadowsky users: P+J or J+J?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by rulyøngo, May 24, 2005.

  1. Hello all Sadowsky users, I got one question. Which one would you recommend for rock? A JJ pickup configuration or a PJ configuration?

    Please help!!!

I own three. All are JJ. I've had a PJ and it smoked too. I dont think its that big a deal, actually.

  6. That's what happened to me. :)

If metros came with Ps, I'd have gone that way. But the JJ sounds great too. If you're going to blend near the center, JJ is probably better.

PJ has more versatility, but JJ looks better, besides the fact that a PJ bass looks like a beginners bass, not neccesarily a bad thing for some people, but most don't like that idea...

Especially in the hands of that Wooten guy...
  11. I have a PJ, but I would really like to have one with a J in the middle.

Same here--if I could have gotten my Metro with PJ, I probably would have, but I really like the sound of the JJ, too.

+2. I dig the j/j config though. I'm looking at an MS 5 now. I like playing between the j p'ups.

What I like about my PJ is when we play certain songs in our setlist, I have a slightly more vintage sound in my head. I just roll it towards the P, dial down the VTC a little, and away we go. Instant thump.
