    Hi all,

I got my new Sadowsky yesterday and since I had not seen many Sadowsky threads this week  I thought it was the right time for this thread :D

Pics and specs here . if the page don't load press F5.

I have been playing a Sadowsky Metro for the last 6 months (Ash / maple) and I'll A/b 'em in the next few days, but so far playability, feel and tone is the same.

I got a rehearsal tonight so more to come tomorrow.

Needless to say I'm sooooo happy :hyper:

I'm loving it. it's the kind of bass that makes me want to play. Sometimes I even got distracted by the tone, I pluck a note and just listen to it. This bass plugged to my read purity is SWEET.

i like these more than the FMT's.

  7. Congrats - That's a very nice bass. It kinda looks like the one you "wear" on your avatar. Do you have several in the same finish?

Umm....unless they changed the J-Retro lately, it's way different.
Sadowsky-Bass & Treb boost only with an option to add a passive tone control. Really about as simple as you get for a pre-amp.
J-Retro- Bass, Mid, Treb boost and cut, passive tone, a bunch of p/u switching options in both passive and active modes. 3 stacked knobs and a few mini switches.

    Oh yeah, nice bas!!!.

The one in my avatar is my Sadowsky Metro. Same woods. I bought it before I ordered the NYC just to know what to expect. I loved it since the first note so I sold my Lakland 4-94s and ordered a NYC with a couple of minor specs not available in the metro line.
Playability, tone and even weight are the same between these two.

I'm selling the Metro now. (the add is not in the For Sale forum but it'll be there in a day or two).

    thanks Mike.

As Mike said, very different preamps. For a long time I refused to buy a Sadowsky because they had no mid freq. knob. After trying one I changed my mind. I don't miss it at all. The Sadowsky pre is simple, easy to use and sounds great... perfect for me.
