While visiting the Walmart website, (Yes, Walmart now sells high-quality funk machines), I found this Music Man Stingray 4 in a Salmon finish. I can't find this or any other model in Salmon pink on the Music Man website. Anyone know anything about this? I'm not sure if maybe it was just a limited run or something like that...

Looks like Coral Red. That finish was available a few years back, closer to the introduction of the Classic series.

When it came to the colors of the Classic models, EBMM originally said they were going to rotate most of the available colors for a period. Coral was one of the first ones and probably lasted 2 years.

I always thought Tony Levins' bass was Salmon coloured. Nice bass.

They came close to Tonys' colour with the TLev OLP signature model, I think.

That's the darkest maple fretboard I've ever seen!

The OLP didn't just come close to Tony Levin's "Barbie Flesh Peach" finish, it nailed it!

FWIW, Walmart doesn't actually sell the music gear on its website, it's sold through third-party online retailers like MusicYo, music123, and Zzounds. They do sell their own line of coffins, though,

  9. I used to joke that GC was the "Walmart of music stores"... Well, I guess now WalMart is the Walmart of music stores.

There was a salmon colored SR at my local GC a couple months ago, very cool looking.

I'd have to go with a seafoam green on the pg to get that hideous gorgeous early 60s vibe. :)
