    There is some really interesting info at that site. I checked out blues and jazz. I bet the jazz part could use a lot of additions. TalkBassers, how about it?

  3. I looked up "ring, ring" by De La Soul to find what bassline they sampled- it's "help is on the way" by Whatnauts.
    this track also has the guitar line that's in "ring, ring".

    however, the same bassline is in "Act like you know" by Fat Larry's band- not a sample as there are slight variations between the two-
    :confused: who copied who?

    I get the impression that this line also influenced "ma quale" by Pino D'Angio which was sampled on "don't call me baby" by Madison Avenue- it's in the same key and is based around the same pattern, albeit inverted.
