....man....I so wish I lived in SF....

    :(

You will never see stuff like this happening in the bastion of cool culture that is Orlando, FL....

    :rollno:

  12. gard, i know a guy that's down in south florida that puts on quite a few whacked out art shows up and down the state.

Yes yes yes....there are PARTS of this state that actually have culture.

But I live on Disney's front porch....

    :help:

  16. 111 minna isn't involved in this, i don't think. pick up a gaurdian, and there are gallery openings listed. here's my standard list off the top of my head:
49 geary (about a dozen galleries in there)
14 geary (i don't think they have anything this month)
    77 geary
dolby chadwick-corner of post and grant, above the jewelry store
    288 grant, upstairs
hackett freedman-north side of sutter, between grant and kearny
caldwell snyder, on sutter, heading away from the bay
JJ gallery, on sutter, keep walking in the same direction
hang & hang annex, on sutter, just past powell

there are a few more on that stretch of sutter street, you can't miss them.

we'll probably meet up outside of 49 geary around five thirty or so.

  17. You just have to discern the real culture from the fake culture.
How to tell the difference in South Florida.
    1. If to get into an art gallery your cloths have to cost as much as the art it isn’t real culture.
    2. The quality of the culture is inversely proportional to the quality of the Air Conditioning.
    3. Just because there is a drag queen hosting doesn’t mean it is real culture.
    4. People eating shrimp out of chilled bowls is not real culture.
    5. People eating shrimp out of fish tanks while playing bongos is.

  18. ok. one last shameless bump. if anyone wants to hook up with us, wander around town, look at art, drink stupid amounts of wine, and mow on all the free crackers you can get your hands on you're all welcome.
we will be meeting outside 77 geary at 5:30. that's right where geary meets market street, up towards the grant street end of the block.
benjamin-skinny guy, glasses, probably wearing black and doing interpertive dance
natalie-short hair of various shades, glasses, usually with a messenger bag over her shoulder
my wife-cute blonde, very fashionably dressed
    me-just plain sexy

there's supposed to be some good openings tonight. i'm looking forward to the contemporary marble sculptures at 288 grant. and hang is always a good time.

    hope to see someone there.
