Can’t believe I’m doing this, but here it is...

Up for sale is one of the ‘sexiest’ basses I’ve ever owned or seen (at least in my opinion!). This thing really turns heads and catches eyes. I love this bass, only selling to raise cash for some other expenses..

This is a Sandberg Forty Eight bass, purchased new from Thomann in Germany on 10/1/2018 just a few months ago. I’ve played it for a number of hours at home since, but it’s really just like I received it minus a string change.

This bass has pretty much all the available options. It is ‘Hardcore Aged Reserve’ (uncharge) and has block inlays (upcharge), matching headstock (upcharge), and stripes on the body and headstock (upcharge).

‘Hardcore Aged Reserve’ adds a Thermo-Treated Alder body which is designed to make the wood more resonant and lively. It is a nicely resonant bass from my experience. It also adds aged pickup covers and an aged treatment to the neck, rather than just the body finish for Hardcore Aged.

This bass has a split coil (think P bass) in the neck position and a humbucker (think Stingray) in the bridge. It has a 2-band EQ and a passive option that sounds excellent. Super versatile and great sounding bass!

Excellent player, excellent quality from Sandberg. Very tight construction and it has definitely impressed me a lot. This bass can handle anything you throw at it.

This bass does NOT normally come with a hard case, but I purchased and slightly modified an Epiphone Thunderbird case to fit (see pics). Works perfectly. The bass will ALSO come with TWO nice Sandberg gig bags in addition to the case. (I know, kind of silly, but due to a mixup at Thomann I ended up with two of them. As long as they fit in the shipping box I’m happy to send both bags and the hard case.)

These are very rare in the states and seem to be rare overall. The only one I see right now for sale in the US is at Chicago Music Exchange for $2,695 and it is a lefty. Get this fully loaded one with hard case for a lot cheaper!

    No trades, please.

This is an AWESOME bass, I happen to own one of the very few here in the states and I’ll attest to the Sandberg Forty Eight being a complete beast of a bass. Plus, this color combo is stunning!

    I can’t believe you’re selling her!

Is it 34" scale? (I think 35" is an option).

I honestly can't believe I am either... I've downsized to a fairly small group of basses recently and I consider them all to be ones that I love, so it was difficult to pick one. Lots of back-and-forth involved, trust me on that! It really just came down to the value of this one vs. a couple of my other options, but if this one doesn't sell quickly I may change my mind and list another bass and some pedals etc. instead.

    34" scale!

This is definitely going to be the toughest bass to let go of that I can remember, but if it goes to a good home where it sees good use that'd make me happy as well. I'm not giving it the playing time it deserves at the moment!
