If i were going to sand and refinish (in hand rubbed oil) my bass wich tools should i use? and how do you aply the hand rubbed oil???

    Thx in advance.

  2. Well, start with two excedrin, because you will need them.

There's alot involved with getting the old finish off. If you have any kind of furniture builders around you, see if they have a timesaver sander machine, and ask if you can pass the body thru to get the bulk of the finish removal done quickly. The benefit (beyond not feeling the urges to pull your hair out from all that sanding) is the body is not only bare wood now, but dead flat.

I would recommend this foremost, and then the tedious work of sanding all of the sides doesn't seem so bad. DON'T use a random orbital sander, as they rarely lie dead flat, and you create valleys in the surface....

As for the oil application, search the luthier section.
