I was just thinking the other night, a sans amp gives you options to sound like a bassman, an svt, an swr, ect.

how close does the sans amp actually get?

for example: the alembic f1x is based on a fender circuit and the sans amp gives you settings for a fender bassman. how close does the sans amp get to replicating that sound?

a sans amp kinda sounds like a sans amp no matter what
it sounds cool, but i wouldnt go so far as to say it nails the tones of other preamps

It helps approximate. You jus can't get a certain amps tone without having that amp. You have to remember that you are alos running it through your amp, which adds more color.
