SansAmp Pedal or Rack Mount?

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by rydin4lifebass, Mar 20, 2018.

  1. Which one do you guys prefer and why? I have space in my rack for one and am leaning that way, but I also like the portability of the pedal. Aren't they basically the same effect, just in a different format?

I'm a knob tweaker, so I like having everything in front of me at my feet. I also have a Q/Strip which can drive a power amp. Planning to get a Mackie Powered Stage Monitor that will sit beside my pedalboard.

    Q SRM.

  3. I just like the idea of how portable a pedal is making it easy to switch between basses and rigs. I think Paul Gray played the rackmounted SansAmp, but I'm not sure which model he used.
