My Squire CV 70s P bass arrived today. So I opened the box This was an open box PAS through eBay but I don't think it was ever unwrapped from the factory......until now
So I plugged it and tuned it up..... Pictures don't really capture how nice this bass is finished and of course how nice it plays straight out of the box. I am thoroughly blown away by this whole deal.
Nice score! If you just want a nice bass and don't care what's on the headstock CV is a killer option.
If it's proaudiostar, my hunch is they sell "open box" so they can list at lower prices. Forfeit a warranty for a killer deal. Same as new. Ya dun good.
They come packed really well from factory-my 40th Anniversary Squier P was also packed like that, sent from Fender themselves. Neck needed adjustment as *always*, otherwise no issues whatsoever with neck (and frets), body, etc. Mine survived egregious FedEx mistreatment, with a huge hole in the box near the upper left horn and neck, but whatever did that missed the bass, and there were zero problems (have had FedEx kill the headstock of a new bass before.) People will diss these Squiers for not being "cheap enough", but they can be amazing! Glad you are happy with yours.
Squier bass can be amazing on special deal from Fender direct. Yes, price point. For me, the word of Amazing praise only happened on early day CIC Squier CV line with only 299 street price.
