Saw it this past weekend live, its a great musical. Really opened my eyes to how many great songs they had, with vocals few could cover. Im all a sudden hooked on a band i never paid much mind to! Some impressive bass lines to boot!
They were a big influence of people my age growing up in north Jersey. Some of my best friends and drummers who I grew up with and played with took lessons from their tour drummer Joey Cass, a great guy and educator I got to hang around a bit with before I moved away.
The first time I ever had a bass in my hands , the first thing I ever played was the intro to "Let's Hang On. A few years ago I was in a band that covered that song. Took me over 40 years to actually play it in a band.
I stumbled upon the movie (then bought it)...and then went to a live show a couple years ago. Thoroughly enjoyed it all. Bought my 1st Four Seasons albums about that time, too.
Frankie Valli is THE MAN. Nobody like him. I think I heard he has always had severe hearing problems. 'Must be why he sings so loud. Great sing-along tunes! On a side note, Jon Bon Jovi is morphing into him...
