Saw Pattitucci last night

Discussion in 'Bassists [BG]' started by squeegeebrown, Oct 28, 2002.

  1. Saw Wayne Shorter last night. He did not disappoint..Brian Blade on the drums was phenomenal!!! Pattitucci as well.Danilo Perez did some beautiful chord work. I almost didn't go..I was thinking I was going to hear some conventional trad jazz..which is fine..but I am sick to death of it..anyway the music was absolutely beautifully textural and complex..dynamically astounding.. I think it was a little challenging for alot of the crowd to grasp as they seemed a little fidgety. The first two pieces were each 15-20 minutes long.... I was able to lay back and lose myself in it. I am SO glad I went. If you get the opportunity..Go!!!

Man...I'm envious...I'd love to catch Shorter live. That's very cool.

What a great story. It was fortunate that you were able to infer he listened to jazz.

I'm jealous. Patitucci (note the spelling ;)) is my "bass hero", but he's not coming by me anytime soon. Such is life.
