Say you want to sell a medium-low value bass...

    I sold it in 2010 to a guy in Australia...who happened to be a pretty bad-assed guitar player...
    There are times when I do miss it...

    Advertise the bass for whatever you think is fair. Every 3-6 months lower the price by $50 until it's sold.

    The $450 originally spent is called a "sunk cost". Money already gone and not related to current market value. There's no recouping costs just because you think you're entitled.

    If you look at, lots of items there that have been up for months and months.
    Also check out the vintage/custom auto auctions. Lots of custom cars going for $50k-$100k that cost $2-$300k to build. No one cares how much it cost the owner to build.

    Want to sell a medium-low value bass, put a medium-low price on it. If it doesn't sell, lower price until it does. All been said already. It's not worth what you put into it to anyone but you, and you don't want it - doesn't that tell you something about the value of your "upgrades"?

    You might do better removing the modifications, and selling them separately, and maybe selling the neck separately as well, or the neck/body minus electronics.
