Always been a big fan of MM basses and the Sterling style (slimmer body and neck). This is a great bass that was neglected. I snagged it and began the restoration. The hardware was rusted. I treated the frets and they cleaned up well. The large pole pieces not as much. I ended up painting them with black nail polish. EBMM seems to be okay with this. Probably comes off with some nail polish remover if you wanted to do silver, etc. I replaced the battery clip which is longer then previous. Currently it is wearing some Hipshot USA ultralites that dropped the weight by almost 5 oz. Stock tuners the bass weighs just under 9 lbs, 8 lbs 15 oz. Balances well. Condition: Good Neglected for sure. Cleaned up well. Now plays well and sounds fantastic. Was thinking of getting an alnico MM pickup but the ceramic combined with the basswood body sounds great...maybe as good if not better than some of the EBMMs I have had? Truss rod seems to function as it should. Same with preamp, switch, and tuners. There are bumps and bruises all around the bass. Some ding on the neck on the G side, down by the higher frets. I am usually picky about neck gouges, these are not bad nor as noticeable. I also accidentally drilled through the headstock when installing one of the Hipshots. I am hoping the original ferrules cover it up. Some of the headstock paint chipped around the tuner holes when the original ferrules were removed. I hope this is covered up too. Pics show of Hipshot, but original will be installed. I just got a Warwick Corvette $$, and I really just like having a neck pickup. I have the MM tone covered. Not really interested in trades at the moment. Overall, a great player for the person who is okay with some wear. Keep the EBMM at home and bring this to the dive bar gig. Priced to pass on the deal I received, minus the hours of work I put it into it to bring it back to life. $369 plus $30 shipping East of of the Mississippi, $40 for West of it in the Cont. USA. {} {} {} {} {} {} {} {}
