I messed around with a four-string Schecter Diamond bass for an hour or so at GC today. The bass has a wide range of tones, and the pickups are "Duncan Designed". The list price was $800 or so, and the bass was available for around 450. The bass is made in Korea, but the bridge looked strong and it appeared that the bass was well-constructed.

Does anyone have any experience with this bass? It's one I'm seriously considering purchasing.

I don't have experience, quality wise. But I like the sound of Schecters I've tried, but the necks aren't for me.

"Duncan Design" dont have the best rep you may be finding yourself replacing them down the line.

Like the EMG HZs, the Duncan Designed pickups are more than OK, people just seem to expect them to be clones of the real thing.

The ones i had in my bass were the worst sounding pick ups i ever heard.
