I was checking out some options for custom-ordering a bass and came across the Schecter site. Out of curiosity I submitted a request for a price quote and it was quite a bit (...ok...a *multitude*...) higher than I expected. Wow! I have trouble imagining paying that! The bass you can get for $4770, is anything off limits at that price?

Thank you for your interest in a Schecter Custom Shop instrument !
This quote is an estimate only ! Please see your authorized USA Schecter
    dealer
for an exact quote on your instrument. Samples of custom inlays and/or
    custom finishes may
be required for an exact retail price.

Our estimate per your request is :$4,770.00

    Wow
for the past few days after getting my jack casady bass i was thinking what solid body would complement it, i decided to give Schecter custom shop a try.I will not be ordering for a few months but every one says they compare to Sadowsky and they are alot cheeper. I would call Schecter to price that that dosent sound right. Their Jazz and Model T are in the $1200 range to start and goes up with more features IE painted heastock. I hope it works out for you.;)
