Any recommendations about what to do with a scrathy pot on an amp? I've done some searching and there were a few warnings about using any kind of lubricants and several suggested using some kind of contact cleaner.

Does the contact cleaner generally work? If it doesn't the first time and I try a few applications is there a potential for damaging the amp (too much moisture inside or some other reason)? If I get to that point and it still doesn't seem to eliminate the problem is that the time to consider having it worked on?

Anyway, just looking for some suggestions. Thanks.
