I'm a bit of a graphics junky and was curious what screen resolutions most of you use... I prefer 1280x1024 myself.

On this tiny monitor I have at work it's at 800x600 :scowl:

At home it's better but not by much. I think I have that one set at 1024x768.

  11. I've just made the switch from 800x600 to 1024x768. Had a couple programs that needed the extra space.

Yes, my system is about 5 years old.

    I have a Samsung LCD 19" and it's set to 1280X1024

    I like it

  14. I don't have much of a choice really. 1280x1024's the native res of my LCD, so that's what I run most things at. I like to run first-person multiplayer games (ones that support it, anyhow) at 1280x720 (I get black bars above and below, DVD-style) for 16:9 widescreen, which helps a little as it significantly increases my field of view.

1280x1024, highest this monitor can go (17" Samsung CRT). I don't play games on here very often, but a source port of Doom 2 (in full 3D!) looks great so I'm happy.
  16. Hey head, what Samsung LCD do you have? I'm actually using one myself, the 172X. (pricey, but great for games) Also, where'd you get the Doom2 source port? I think i'd like to give that a try.

edit: I think I misread your post. I interpreted it to mean a Doom2 TC mod on the Source engine, but I guess you're reffering to a repackaged one from the (open source) source code. Oops. :p

Also, I have a CRT, not an LCD. SyncMaster 753DF, to be exact. Somewhat old, but I love it.

1600x1200 on a Dell 20" LCD panel. once i am done upgrading my DAW, i may spring for a second one.
  19. Ohh, I assumed LCD because 1280x1024's usually an LCD res, as it's 5:4 instead of 4:3. For some reason, many LCDs, including the one I have are 5:4, and I havn't figured out why yet.
