I was wondering what the average screenresolution is..
myself i have an 22" with 1900x1440
I use 1024x768 because it's as big as I can go before my laptop forces it into 256 colors. Even then, 1024x768 can only be achieved with 16-bit color.
My laptop can do 1280x1024, but since it's a real small LCD ( Sony Vaio ), it's not very readable..
I think 1024x768 pretty standard....most people have at least got 17" monitors and video cards worth the crap....about the laptop, upgrade your video card with a Geforce mobile or something....I'm pretty sure thats a limitation of your video card and not your monitor....
My laptop has a pretty small monitor, it's one of those smaller mid-sized Fujitsu Lifebooks. It can go up to 1280x1024, but as AllodoX said, since the monitor's not exactly the biggest thing on earth, things aren't all that readable on it.
960 x 720
I really don't get why people like 5:4 more than 4:3--but whatever. I use 1152x864.
800x600. i have a small monitor.
1152x864, pretty decent size, could go smaller on this 19".
Right now its 1024x768. I like it at 1900 x 1440 but my family doesn't
1600x1200 on a nice Panasonic 19".
1900X1440, I gotta put this nice monitor and expensive graphics card to use.
I have my set at 1280x1024 on a 19" monitor, that where I like it. But my video card and monitor allows up to 1920x1200 tho, But I don't like it that small.
800x600 on a 17" screen
1024x768 on a 17" monitor, 32bit color.
oh yeah.. damn.. i forgot to ask for the depth..
ok.. i'm at 32 bit depth too ( gotta love that hardware accelerated XP )
1024x768 on a 15" ViewSonic flat panel. The thing sucks, it always goes out of sync and doesnt come back
1024x768 and 32bit....
got a pretty decent graphic card, but my monitor sucks!.. it's a 17" and it's out of focus, makes it hard to read unless I have the brightness and contrast down low... _very_ low!
but next weekend(x-mas vacation) I'll add a 14-15" monitor and have it on either 800x600 or 1024x768 and keep the 17" at 1024....
I love multiple monitors!
next summer I'll buy a 19"... and maybe a Matrox Millenium card(two inputs)...
1280x1024 on the 19" sony monitor i'm using now, 1600x1200 on the 21" sony monitor on my development/game machine.
