Trying to decide between the SD Hot Stacks & Quarter Pounders for my '89 p-bass plus. Looking for more of a classic rock sound and I'm concerned that the QP's may be a bit too heavy metal sounding.....

(FYI: P-bass plus has one p & one j pu. came w/ lace sensors)

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    FWIW:

I had a hot P hot stack combo and it was real scooped - hot P was very bright. Don't know if SD makes an classic P in accord with their classic stacks but their classic stacks are the only HB J's I've run across with a quality vintage Fender J tone.

If I had to take a stab I'd go with a DM Model P and Model J. Their both 4 lead humbucking and put out good old school tone. If you're heavy on P the Model P may not suit your tastes.

All the PJ's I've ran are in FAQ in the under Dimento PJ experiment.

No matter what you get, if you pick them up used off ebay and you don't like them about the worst you'll do is break even - and those pups come up frequently.
