There's mine in the avatar, a 1997 Zon Legacy Standard fretless 5. Best Zon I've ever played;)

The Legacy Standard is the bolt-on Legacy, no longer offered as a standard model. It does sound different from the set neck Legacies. I prefer the Legacy body over the Sonus, to me it really screams "Zon".

I'm toying with the idea of possibly selling it... what do you Zonbies think it might be worth?

I'm on the same page with ya, Brad. The '95 Legacy Standard I own sounds quite different than the '94 Legacy Elite. They're both sixers. Of course, the bodies on mine are quite different, too: the Standard is solid maple and the Elite is a very light wood. Poplar, I seem to recall. For me, the main differences in tone are in the area we normally call "punch." The Standard is punchy as all get-out; the Elite less so.

BTW, I'm very fond of both the Zons I own and use them often. Excellent basses for me and my purposes.

Man, I've got to start using a digital camera for my photos.

That f'less looks as wicked as mine!

    Cool bass Adrian..........

I might go for a Zon fretless one day......more specifically....a Sonus Special Fretless.

ok ok, here i go again:

  13. I had a dream once, where I had a Completly black five string fretted zon.

It was awesome. Black hardware, graphite neck, ebonal/ebony whatever black board, no fret markers.

Just grand. Love them Zons. This'll be my second-- long time ago had a "Roland-Ready" Lightwave done by Joe, been biding my time for another.

So it's likely to be a Sonus Custom, still can't make up my mind on the top though. Though Adrian's looks rather nice (what wood is that anyway?).....

    Ahh, the torture!

Sonus Custom fretless five in redwood burl, with stealthy redwood lines. Invisible from more than a couple of feet away.
