Hello, hopefully this is the right spot to put this thread.

I've been interested in DB for a long time now, primarily jazz.
So, I went out and rented one a few days ago.

I've played electric for 10 years, but from what I can tell, those 10 years only matter for hand strength and note recognition when it comes to DB.

Who can you all reccommend in the Seattle area for instruction? Jazz instruction.

    Bassists:
I really like Trevor Dunn(DB and electric).
And I really hate Jaco and Victor Wooten.

    Thanks!

I think my bow is warped. :bag:

You could also check out Doug Miller (instructor at the UW) and Chuck Deardorf (at Cornish). Also Buddy Catlett, who played with Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Coleman Hawkins, Johnny Griffin and Eddie Davis among many others.

These guys are all great players but if you're into trevor dunn chances are Michael may be a better player as he's not quite as straight ahead a player. BTW I took a few lessons with Buddy and he's a great guy with awesome stories. FWIW. Good luck.
