I got a budget of $200. Currently i deciding of two peavey microbass.

One is second hand Peavey Microbass sold by my bass teacher. He bought it in 1998' and gonna sold to me for $100. Made In USA.

Another is Peavey Microbass III, brand new in box sold for $200. Made in China.

    Which one should i take?

This post should be in amps not in basses.

Between those two choices, I would get the secondhand USA Microbass.

The Microbass III is a nice amp though.. ive dealt with a new one recently and its a very nice small amp, it can be had cheaper than $200 though.

If it still sounds good and is in good condition, I would see if you can talk him down a little and get the USA model.

There was a thread a few months back about somebody trying the newer model and basically they said that it didn't sound near as good as the older USA version.

Remember that speakers are made of paper fiber, and are biodegradable. Your teacher either a) is trying to rip you off, or b) doesn't know. Buy a new amp. I've an SWR workingman's 12, and though kinda pricy, easy to carry and sounds great. I'm sure you'll want you want. Peace.
