    hey guys,
    im doing a big essay on how money affects music production (art). i want to look at how record labels control what their bands sound like in order to make more money. i was wondering if anyone knows any websites or sources where i can learn more about this. any information will be greatly appreciated. thanks

    "The Mansion On The Hill" by Fred Goodman

    "Hit Men: Power Brokers & Fast Money Inside the Music Business"
    by Fredric Dannen

    Also, almost ANY biography of major pop/rock stars will cover this to some extent.
