    Hello all,
Just got myself a Selmer TnB head finally and it sounds delicious but theres a lot of hum which is annoying. I've read up that this might be the valves asking to be replaced?
If so, can i do this myself or should i just get the head serviced?
If it isn't the valves, has anyone got any suggestions? :)

    Cheers,

    Simon

I used to have one of those! Great sounding little amp. I'd say it's worth a bit of loving, so get it checked out. Good luck with it, that's a really nice piece of kit.

If my memory serves me correctly, it should go HELLISH loud for a 50 W amp. Really clear, warm sound - almost makes me want tubes again.

We need a nostalgia smiley. ;)

With an amp of that age it probably could do with a recap. That's usually where the hum comes from. If you change the output tubes the unit will need to have its bias checked.reset. In its day the TB50 was one of my favourite amplifiers.
