Senior Recital Piece for 1st Year Student

    I am teaching an interesting young man - senior at an arts-focused high school, studied piano for 5 years and trumpet for 2, but for reasons I don't understand, he's now studying bass with me and has to play a senior recital in the Spring. (There is a language issue.) The requirements have been made easier for him because of his newness to his instrument.

    One idea is the Largo of the Eccles, but I'm really looking for something that might go up to G but not past it.

    Suggestions appreciated. I think it has to be bass + piano.
