I've noticed that zzounds and American Musical Supply are blowing these babies out for $299. Anybody have experience with them? I already know they use 16 bit, instead of the 20 bit that the XWire used.

I had one briefly. Seemed to suck the life right out of my bass. Nicely built, but my experience was that it had limited frequency response, and the compression was terrible.

    Just my .02...

The frequency response on the unit is rated at 20Hz to 15Khz, and supposedly doesn't use compression because of the digital packets that it sends. Are we talking about the same unit?
