Series/parallel switch for Fender PJ?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Mad Subwoofer, Sep 15, 2002.

  1. What will this do for my tone? How will it change the sound? In series will the bass sound more aggressive or something? I want to keep my passive tone knob as the sound I dig on a Precision is with it half or more ways down. Any drawbacks to doing this?

  2. HI:
I have no idea how this will sound on your bass.

I have a series/parrallel selector on my Dingwall. W/ the pickups in series mode the volume is louder, the tone more beefy (I have Barts) and growly. In parallel mode the sound has the original volume and the tone has less mids, more round, less growl.

Actually in day-to-day playing I almost never use parallel mode, to me it sound more like a studio tone.

I don't know if your will sounds like this
