Serious forward neck bow.

Discussion in 'Hardware, Setup & Repair [BG]' started by Sanitarium, Apr 17, 2006.

  1. I have a bad case of neck bow on my Fender Aerodyne, it's bowing pretty badly forward, as soon as I bring it up to tuning. I've been keeping tension off of it for the time being, but I want to know what I should do.

edit:forgot to add that I did adjust the truss rod as per the links posted above, and it didn't do anything. Could I possibly have a broken trussrod?

  2. Take it to a pro ASAP.

  3. I think I'm going to just take it to a pro, and not mess with it any more. Any idea on how much it'll run me? I'm kind of short on cash.

This is where having a relationship with a local store comes in handy. A good store might adjust your bass for nothing if you routinely bought stuff there. Watch him do it if you can, this is something bass player need to know.

If you tighten the truss rod yourself, loosen the strings first.
