Seriously Bummed.....

    I'm about to have a crappy Christmas, My gf wants to buy me another bass for the holiday and I have two picked out....

    And Ibanez SR1305 (if you see it for sale online, PLEASE dont buy it)

    -OR-

    And Ibanez SR505

    Now, here's that Problem, I might not get the 1305 b/c Someone might end up buying it on me, And I called Ibanez today about the 505 and they're sold out for the year, and they're not shipping ANYTHING the last week of December due to the warehouses being inventoried.

    This sucks.....

    No offense, but perhaps you should focus less on "being bummed" about the actual gift you are going to get, and instead be grateful that you've got a great girlfriend who cares about you enough to buy you a bass for Christmas. Lots of people own great basses and don't have a wonderful person in their life that cares about them.

    You make it sound like Christmas is all about receiving. Its about GIVING, and taking note of the wonderful things you have, like that girlfriend. Screw the bass. Besides, its only an Ibanez you're talking about. ;)

    no no, I'm bummed because she feels really bad, It means so much to her b/c she knows the bass is gonna have a lot of sentimental value, and if she's bummed, I'm bummed.

    by the way, I LOVE Ibanez basses...... not as much as her though, she rocks. lol.

    actually, I feel better thinking about her.

    Be greatful that she thinks enough of you to want to buy you bass. Not too many gf's would even think about doing that.Just tell her anything she gets you will be perfect. You don't know how lucky you are.

    I'd expect to see a very happy post if this was the case, regardless of which bass is available or not. With a GF lke that, I think we could all do with one bass :)

    Sounds like you have a great girlfriend. I have a SR505 and find myself playing it more than my MIA Jazz. BTW I did a search on the 505 and see both Guitar Center and Musician Friend advertising it for sale so I'm not sure what the problem is.

    I would just tell her to save her money and wait until you can track down the guitar you want.

    For christmas me and my gf were gonig to exchange rather expensive gifts: Me getting hera promise ring, and she ordering me an SX :D. But now im just get a few sets of strings, good enough for me.

    hey guys, the reason I cant get a hold of a SR505 is B/C I order direct from Ibanez. I work at Sam Ash and one perk of the job is ordering direct and paying cost on items. Anyways, with that being the case I'm S.O.L. Whatever though, I talked to her about it and told her to just suprise me, and that I dont need to know what she's getting me, it'll be awesome no matter what.

    As far as I'm concerned it's the reason the B and F# (and even C#) strings were ever even considered.

    You should give it to her twice a day for the next year. I would be ashamed if my wife bought me a bass and I didn't do that ;)
