What should you set your DI level to going out from 0-10? Does it really matter?

Do most of them ask as an attenuator or an actual volume control?

Why I'm asking is because if it's treated more like a PAD then the when it's cranked it shouldn't create much noise for what it's going into.

I've had DI level controls on a Mesa M-pulse 600 and G-K 700rb-II, and usually set them at 12 o'clock - which would be approx. "5" on a scale of 1-10, and that level setting was usually pretty good for any soundman I ever worked with...

I would start out at a middle setting, and ask the soundman how your send level was - and adjust accordingly...

Yep. If the soundman needs less, he'll let you know.

DI signal level means mic signal level into appro 1kOhm differential input stage.
Probably I don't understand the question, or the question is mistaken?
