I realize that this forum is comprised of bass players of varying degrees of abilty - but everyone must have personal goals. I am a new bass player, so I have so far realized only a few of my goals. My future goals are: 1)To complete my beginer bass instructional book by the end of the year. 2)To become proficiant in playing in several modes that I have yet to learn. (ongoing time frame) 3)To learn aprox. ten more cover tunes to add to my personal 'song book' (in the next six months) 4)To learn to play with other musicians effectively and comfortably. (ASAP) 5)To play at least one successfull pub gig with friends 6)To have an attractive female pose nude with my bass (an idea that came from a thread I read here on talk bass) ---So, if anybody wants to playthis little game - I'd love to hear about your personal goals.
I sent goals, but i don't set many because tho more you set, the less likely you are to achieve them all and to the standard you hoped for. So too i tend not to set goals with time frames as you get disappointed when that date passes and you still are no closer. My goals are as follows: 1. To start formal lessons next year (self taught for 4 years and need a challenge) 2. To keep gigging with my band (we just started gigs) 3. To record a demo. Even it means that it'll take 6 months or 6 years to get my goals achieved, i would satisfied that i achieved them. Merls
right now skool and girlfriend are taking priority over my music , for the last month it was the other way around, that wasn't too good
