Setting up backup bass

    ...as my backup bass for gigging.

    This thing has NO tone! So then, I put a quarter pounder in it but there was little improvement.

    The current tone has kind of a zing to it. It's like the strings are being flicked with a pick instead of being plucked. The sustain is good on the E and A string, but not on the D and G.

    I want it to sound like a P-Bass-->that's why I bought it. Is it the electronics? something else?
