Seymour Duncan Bass 4000

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Marty Forrer, Jul 31, 2001.

  1. Has anyone got or tried one of these? I've been offered one, and I may try it out, but the fact that they had such a short production run is a bit un-nerving.

  2. Dave up at Mainly Guitars in Takapuna has a Seymour Duncan 6000 (8000? sheesh, brainfart, anyways it's the bigger brother...) - check that out for sound.
The Rock Shop in K'Rd has (had, it might've sold but i doubt it) an SD 4000 as well you could check out.

Unfortunately IMO they sound sterile and gutless - I find SWR to be a bit sterile; these are a joke. A 130w solid state Hartke head kicked the arse of the 6000...!

But, dunno about using them with your upright - it might be a winner. Are you still doing the waterfront gig? I still need to come down and check you guys out...we're hitting the KA on the 17th...

  3. Tried it out, not much cop. Hey Nil, cruise down and say hi!
