I'm building two basses. Does anyone have advice on the differences in sound other than more output and bass from the quarter pound set ? The first is a 1951 Fender Precision with Seymour Duncan. Quarter Pound PJ - set The second is a 1964 Fender Precision with Seymour Duncan. Antiquity II P-Bass
Well, the differences you mentioned are the main ones, and pretty big ones at that. The Antiquity II is sort of scooped, really. It is a great tone for vintage styles, or further processing. It also works with many string types. The QP just wants to rock. Lotsa output, grindy low-mids. Very bold. Not the pickup for a jazz gig.
