I want to put a new pickup in my '50s style P Bass. Does anyone have an opinion on either of these?

the duncan "hots" always just sounded dull to me.

the QP will be loud and ballsy.

    Excellent choice.
The one here does it right in that it is clean when played normally and then gets "ballsy" when you play hard.
Height adjustment will affect the above.

I think I set mine with the E and G magnets/poles 1/4" below open strings, for starters.
