Seymour Duncan Jazz pickups (or Barts?)

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by bassplayer7770, Jan 29, 2002.

  1. I was considering purchasing Warmoth parts in the future (for a Jazz Bass), and I have a few questions about the pickups they sell (Seymour Duncans). I was considering the Hot SJB-2s, but reviews I've read haven't been very positive. I'm also considering the Antiquities, but I'm not sure Warmoth even sells them.

The sound I'd be going for is warm, yet it can be heard in the mix. I've heard Barts are good for warm tone. Anybody have experience with the 9W4Js? Does anybody know how much Bart J-style pickups such as the 9W4Js would cost from Bass Northwest or some other reputable dealer?

So, what Seymour Duncans would you recommend? Would you recommend Barts over Seymour Duncans? I appreciate all the help I can get.:)
