Seymour Duncan Quarter-Pound™ for Single Coil P-Bass (SCPB-3) pickup

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by lowendpurveyor, Apr 25, 2005.

  1. Has anyone replaced their stock pickup in their 51-54 P-bass reissues with the Seymour Duncan Quarter-Pound™ for Single Coil P-Bass (SCPB-3) pickup? If so what are your impressions of the Seymour Duncan pickup? Thanks in advance.

I have w/ a 51p Sting clone. I like it, very growly and aggressive. It's a bit hotter signal as well.

  3. Is it any quieter than the stock one. I tried a Bassline and it hums louder, I think.

Just swapping 1 for the other - it's noticably louder.

I don't have any hum or 60hz noise on mine.. I star grounded everything as well as replaced all of the shielding in the control & pickup wells. The stock bass isn't built that way.
