For those who've had the opportunity to try/play both the Seymour Duncan STK-J1 and the D'marzio Area J; Which would/did you choose, and Why? From what I'm getting, "most" people prefer the Area J, but I figure I'd check with the TB pros, Ha! Thanks.

I have used the SD STK-J2 "Hot Stack" set and more recently the Dimarzio Area J set.

Both sets sound good to me, but the Dimarzio Area J set sounds closer to single coil.

The Hot Stacks sound a little fatter and a little more humbucker.

I use 2 500k volume pots in my basses.

Since the Area J is split coil design, and the STK-J1 (and J2) is stack coil design, I think the Dimarzios would have a little more volume and sound somewhat more dynamic.

    JMO.
