alright...i'm still fighting to decide what pickups to get for my mia jazz. it's going through an svp pro, and ampeg 8x10. i play really loud, chaotic rock and roll. i need something that's clear, balanced, and has a strong tone. i'm pretty much down to these sets:

    dimarzio ultra jazz
    basslines quarter pounders for jazz
    basslines hot jazz (non stack)

what do you all think? i've read the bp shootout a million times, but i want input from you guys. are the ultra jazz more for real vintage applications? let me know what you all think. thanks.
  2. I've had the Ultra Jazz and the Hott Jazz and really liked them both 'cause they're strong in the low mids and can cut a mix pretty well. But the cutting champ in my opinion are a set of Dimarzio Model J's. I use them on a Yamaha and they are awsome. Just a ton of great tone.
