SG & EB Bass Club

I had an EB-3 Epi and I bought that case for it. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Does a great job of protecting the bass. The EPI I had and sold was 34" scale. The SG is 30" scale. I don't know how well it will fit.

However, I have lying around in my office storage a tan Gibson SG bass case that will fit your bass. It's like brand new if it's not brand new. If you have interest, I can probably be taken advantage of. LOL!!!! Send me a PM. One more thing, I bought this case for the very same reason you are looking for one. I didn't like the sarcophagus either.
I'd like backup position on that offer, if available

As a member of this group (#91) could I ask a favor?

Looking to make a pickguard for my LTD Viper (the ZIPPO--you'll know it when you see it) and it would save me a ton of hassle if I could get an accurate outline over the interwebs. I want my bass to look 7% closer to the beautiful SG basses that are coming out lately.

Thinking the easiest way for everyone would be that should you happen to have taken your pickguard off for some reason, just put it (face up) on your scanner with a ruler alongside.
Post the file to this thread, as maybe someone else would need it, too?

It's a long shot I know, but then back when digital photography was new complete strangers actually put valuable equipment in boxes and mailed them to me as complete and humbling surprises that I've never forgotten and tried my best to pay forward.

Hope this helps. This is from a '06 SG Standard. The bottom of the pickguard is facing down and what you are looking at.

It seems their most serious challenges are closer to the top than their off shore interests manufacturing capabilities. Epiphone, while having some issues occasionally, doesn't charge anywhere near what Gibson asks for the same or very similar configurations yet their value for dollar spent sometimes is a much better buy.

Having sold literally a couple of truckloads of Korean-built Epiphones in the late 80s and early 90s, I'll admit that I was pretty impressed by their quality given the price range. I was nowhere near as impressed by some of the Chinese builds that I've sampled.

Inconsistency in Gibson's QC is one of the two reasons why I haven't picked up this year's edition of RD yet. I simply have to play one in person, period, and that hasn't happened so far since I have yet to see one in a store.

I've played some very fine newer Gibbys along with pieces that left me wondering how the guitar in question left the factory in the first place. It's literally hit or miss, with the chances of a miss getting lower as the price tag goes up, but not always.

My $0.02 only...

Dubsly, thanks!
I'll make it work.
Appreciate the help, sir.

As a pro photographer I'm keenly aware of lens distortions and the necessity in a situation such as this of keeping subject and camera perfectly parallel for optimum accuracy, which is why a scan is the way to go. But your photo looks like it's done the right way, so I should be good to go.
And heck, my LTD isn't an exact copy anyway, and the neck pickup is much farther from neck, and I'm over-complicating this whole deal with OCD.

Actually, this was a scan. I'm thinking it looks funny, because the lid wouldn't shut tight with the carpenter's rule in there.

You absolutely are!. Welcome to the club Basstigator you are member #110 !. I like the Rick toaster pickup you added to the SG. Your bridge pup location is set further ahead than where mine is located so I imagine you can get a really decent Rick tone when its engaged?. I had my EB3 modded with a Rick 4003 pup in my bridge location and though it offered a Rick tone it was way too nasally and hard to dial in to appreciate probably due to location so I put the EB3 pup back in its place. Share anything audio, video, picture with us!.

Hi all!. I am sorry to say that I will no longer be in charge of this group as I have made a gear trade that reluctantly involved my EB3 and my quest continues in hopes of getting an Epiphone Jack Casady in the future. If anyone is interested in taking over the group I am posting the current membership numbers for you to copy and bookmark minus mine. Take care.

Hmmm ... A Ric pickup at the bridge ...

Here's one with a Ric pickup in the neck position

I bought mine in high school and it was already modded. It works fine. Our guitarist always wants me to play it. :p I've seen yours in another post I think. Like it very much. Am hunting for a body and neck already.
